Kick-off in Vienna
Prior to the occasion of the European Day on 9 of May the European project DANUBE WOMEN CITY GUIDE was launched in Vienna, laying the foundation for more visibility of women in history and present time in the Danube Region.

To make women’s achievements along the river Danube more visible, also means to empower girls and young women to design and live their own life according their interests and needs – without being restricted from traditional gender roles, the project partners agree.
After our adventure in Bratislava Petra UNGER gave us a fantastic tour on the feminist movements in Vienna. On half way it started to rain, but nobody even cared as it was so exciting to hear the unknown stories…
The next day of our meeting the participants of Danube Women Stories took a trip on the beautiful Danube from Vienna to Bratislava. We were sitting in the captain’s cabin and we could continue our exciting brainstorming…

Who are we, the project partners? It all started with SABINE from Ulm and CHRISTIANA from Vienna, sitting in Stockholm outside a lovely riverside-bar, drinking wine and dreaming about a city guidebook especially made from the perspective of women. Which places would be interesting to visit? What kind of untold stories of women are hidden in the history of a town?
It was probably one of the first feminist tour in Europe, and it was definitely the first one in Budapest… In 2012 Budapest Walkshop organized a bus tour with prof. Andrea Peto… Five years later we started a brainstorming on how we can acualize the tour…
